2010 Conference Highlights

Bill McDonough’s ”Deep Dive”

Stories, visions, designs, and chemistry. Cradle-to-Cradle author and urban design visionary Bill McDonough does an unprecedented 3-hour deep dive in the tradition of Buckminster Fuller. From the molecules that make up the products we use, and some of the most revolutionary green buildings on the planet, to the first experiments in creating eco-cities for the future, Bill McDonough has been at the forefront of designing a world that works for “all children of all species for all time.” In this unique session we hear Bill’s stories, and his visions; how he thinks and what he’s working on. With plenty of time to go deep, and ask lots of questions!

Edible Show Garden

We are pleased to welcome back Josiah Cain, acclaimed Landscape Architect and Visionary, and his team to once again work with community organizations to create a mind-expanding display that is as functional as it is beautiful. At West Coast Green 2009 a garden was suspended over the bay from a bamboo structure, connecting the two piers of Fort Mason Center. Not only was this garden stunningly beautiful, it also treated stormwater runoff before it hit the bay. This year, Master Josiah will put his mind to edibles.

Self Sustaining Show Home
